Teaching

Elisabeth’s teaching expertise is rooted in diverse practical educational experience, beginning with youth group leadership training and mentoring responsibilities (2008-2011), followed by her qualification as a kindergarten and after-school-centre teacher (2012) and experience as a dance instructor for children and teenagers (2012-2015). This foundation provided extensive hands-on pedagogical experience across Austrian and international settings with learners across age groups and educational contexts.

Building upon this foundation, she has accumulated over 560 hours of higher education teaching experience across institutions in Austria, Germany, England, and China, teaching undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and university staff in both English and German, primarily in qualitative research methods. Her expertise in academic assessment extends to serving as a judge for the Global Undergraduate Awards (2025), evaluating international undergraduate research in the category ‘Social Science: Sociology & Social Policy’.

This extensive teaching practice is complemented by formal training, including the Teaching Associates’ Programme Diploma from Cambridge’s Centre for Teaching and Learning, with ‘Associate Fellow (AFHEA)’ status (2021-2022), and specialised training in undergraduate supervision. The quality of her teaching approach has been recognised through nominations for Austria’s ‘Ars docendi’ state prize (2021) and the University of Innsbruck’s ‘LehrePLUS’ prize (2020).
